Abdul Najeeb Qureshi was born on February 25, 1988. He has the team with Najeeb, along with Anil Kumar Prakash. They jointly hold the current 100 metres Indian national record of 10.30 seconds. On 6 October 2010, Abdul Najeeb Qureshi equalled the national 100 meters record while qualifying for the semi-finals during the 2010 Commonwealth Games held at New Delhi. Abdul Najeeb Qureshi clocked 10.30 seconds to equal with the national record of Anil Kumar Prakash set in 2005 at the National Circuit Athletic Meet held in New Delhi. On 23 October 2010, Najeeb visited his alma mater again where he was garlanded and welcomed by his former schoolmates. An exciting evening, brimming with jollily and dance followed, with his first coach, Adarsh Goswami, joining the festivities as well. Abdul Najeeb Qureshi also won 200 meter sprint at the South Asian Games held at Dhaka, Bangladesh in February 2010. Abdul Najeeb Qureshi completed his schooling from Defence Laboratories School, Kanchanbagh, Hyderabad. At school, his inherent talent in running was first identified by his alma mater Adarsh Goswami. Abdul Najeeb Qureshi encouraged Najeeb to follow his dreams and pursue a career in athletics.
