Initially Cag Shield was participated by Sista's, ASP, Grant Advertising, JWT and O&M (then Benson). Gradually the event gained huge popularity and officially registered with the Mumbai Cricket Association. In the year 2007, the re-branding initiative of Cag Shield was undertaken by Vyas Giannetti Creative Sports. For this a pre tournament blitz was created which encompassed the launch of the book titled A Different Pitch. The book narrated the journey and evolution of Cag Shield through years. The book also contained testimonials from associated admen such as Madhukar Kamath and Piyush Pandey along with the cricket players like Kapil Dev and Harsha Bhogle.
