November Fest
November Fest, Tamil Nadu is a famous music festival which coincides with the birth anniversary of Rabindranath Tagore and is inaugurated with the lighting of the kuthuvilakku lamp. Rock, Carnatic and Western Jazz music are the main musical attractions of the event.

November Fest, Tamil NaduNovember Fest is an interesting music festival which commences on the birth centenary of the globally recognised Nobel Laureate Rabindranath Tagore and is organised in the city of Chennai in the state of Tamil Nadu. However, presently, November Fest is also held in regions like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kochi and Coimbatore apart from Chennai. Gradually over the years, the November Fest has been capable of attracting a large amount of crowd, quite similar to that observed in the extremely popular December Fest which takes place in the month of December. A wide variety of musical episodes, from different portions of the country are exhibited in November Fest. The first November Fest was organised in the year 2005, and it boasts of an unbroken musical tradition which is continued even till the current day.

The event was launched officially by the traditional lighting of the ceremonial map known as `kuthuvilakku` by Malavika Sarukkai, the renowned danseuse, flute players Carole Grey and Shashank of `Noisy Mama` and singers named Gayathri and Ranjani.

Western Jazz, Carnatic and rock music are performed by artists at November Fest, while viewers greatly enjoyed the combination of several musical genres of Noisy Mama at the November Fest 2013. Popular music stars from various parts of the globe like Germany, Australia and even throughout the nation India had paid visit to the November Fest the same year. Music stalwarts including vocalist Kaushiki Chakravarty, Pandit Birju Maharaj who played the `Tridha` (which implies a fusion of footwork and flute), Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and others had attended the event. Monsorate Brothers, Rakesh Chaurasia, Vikku Vinayakaram, Coco`s Lunch, Indian Ocean, Trichur Brothers, Vidya Shah, Manganiyars, Mandolin Rajesh and Jayateerth Mevundi were the other well-known music personalities who were present at the November Fest.
