Chandil is a town in Paschimi Singhbhum district in the state of Jharkhand in India. Going by latitude the town is located at 22.97° N 86.05° E and has an average elevation of 246 metres .The town had a population of 4341 according to the 2001 Indian census .It is quite a literate town with an average literacy rate of 63% while the national average is at 59.5%. 71% of the male population are literate while the female literacy rate is at 53%.14% of the population is under six years of age.
