Buxwaha is a town and also a nagar panchayat situated in the Chhatarpur district in the state of Madhya Pradesh in India. Buxwaha has a population of 9064 according to the 2001 census. Males make up 53% of the population and females amount to 47%. The town has an average literacy rate of 54%, lower than the national average of 59.5%. While the male literacy is 63%, the female literacy is 44%. 19% of the population consists of children less than 6 years of age.
