Early Life of Suresh Oberoi
Suresh Oberoi was born on 17th December 1946 to a Hindu Khatri family in Quetta, which is presently in Pakistan. His parents were Anand Sarup Oberoi and Kartar Devi. He moved to Amritsar along with his family after the partition of India and later shifted to Hyderabad.
Career of Suresh Oberoi
Suresh Oberoi began his career with Bollywood flick Jeevan Mukt in 1977. Following this, he starred in a number of movies among which the popular ones include Kala Patthar, Lawaaris, Namak Halaal, Vidhaata, Coolie, Hero, Awaaz, Sharaabi, Aitbaar, Mirch Masala, Aag Aur Shola, Tezaab, Do Qaidi, Aaj Ka Arjun, Tirangaa, Socha Na Tha and many others. His latest Bollywood movie was World Cupp 2011 which released in the year 2009. Apart from Hindi, he has also enacted in South Indian movies like Marana Mrudangam (Telugu) and Attahasa (Kannada). His career also spans in the international film arena where he acted in a few movies such as Puraido: Unmei no toki (Japanese film also released in Hindi and English languages) and Manika, une vie plus tard (French). In the song 'Dil Mein Phir Aaj Teri' from the movie Yaadon Ka Mausam, he had recited a few couplets with Anuradha Paudwal. Apart from movies Suresh Oberoi has also ventured the television world where he had anchored a popular show called Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai. His clear voice and diction was hugely appreciated in the show.
Achievements of Suresh Oberoi
Suresh Oberoi won the National Film Award for the movie Mirch Masala in the year 1987. For the same movie, he also received Bengal Film Journalists' Association Awards for Best Supporting Actor in 1988.
