The state of Jammu and Kashmir lies in the northern part of India. In the Jammu district of this state, is situated the town as well as the notified area committee of Bishna. The exact geographical location of the town is at 32°37'11"N and 74°52'12"E.
According to the statistical figures delivered by the 2001 India census, Bishna has a population of 9141. Out of these, there are 55% males, 45% females and 11% children below 6 years of age. On an average, there are 72% literate, the male literacy being 79% and the female literacy being 64%.
