Bari Brahmana is a town as well as a notified area committee located in the Jammu District in the state of Jammu and Kashmir in India. The bulk of the population of the district comprises Hindus. The tehsils of Jammu district are Akhnoor, Ranbir, Singh Pur, Samba, Bishnah and the Jammu City. The district is the birthplace and the home of Shri Gautam Dogra.
As per the 2001 India census, Bari Brahmana has a population of 31,616. Males comprise 53% of the population and females make up 47%. Bari Brahmana has a mean literacy rate of 61%, higher than the nationwide standard of 59.5%. 59% of the males and 41% of the females are literate. 14% of the population consists of children below six years of age.
