The story of the Indian comics series Mumbai Macguffin is written by one of the most popular Indian comics creators Saurav Mohapatra and illustrated by Saumin Patel. The comics is rich is digital colours which makes it appealing to the readers. The colours are done by V. Venkata Subramanian and Saumin Patel and letters are by Nilesh S. Mahadik. Content of Mumbai Macguffin Mumbai Macguffin is a highly adventurous story about a mysterious object identified as the Macguffin and its male protagonist CIA Special Agent Ike Flint. The story takes the readers through the underbelly of the city of Mumbai which has never been shown in Indian comics before. Ike Flint, expert CIA operative, is send on a mission to retrieve a downed NSA satellite which crashed in Jaipur but has resurfaced in the slums of Mumbai, the biggest in Asia. Ike Flint encounters many dangerous and strange characters in his mission to salvage his target. During the course of the story, he also gets entangled with the gangster lords of Mumbai and the international mafia as well. Some of the other prominent characters include, Fukku Bhai, his right hand man Lutia Pathan, Sky Baba and others. The characters are portrayed in graphic details that illustrate the realistic characters from which they are inspired. Some of the characters are a wheelchair bound gangster lord who is an avid fan of John Wayne; a dazzling bar dancer who can easily solve calculus problems without much thought; a fierce and trigger-happy police inspector who has specialized in encountering and shooting criminals with ease; a religious cult focused on defending its totem and a team of rebels looking for the Macguffin just like Special Agent Flint. Fukku Bhai and Lutia Pathan have all the information about everything that is sold or bought in Chor Bazaar. Although initially they help Flint in locating the mysterious object, but soon it becomes clear that they have their own plans as well. Moreover the Taliban and the Russian Mob is also incorporated in the plot, thus making the quirky gangster adventure even more appealing and interesting. |
