 Biju Patnaik University has 156 colleges, both constituent and affiliated. The subjects taught here include engineering and architecture, business management and hotel management, computer studies and pharmacy.
Biju Patnaik University of Technology depending on the funding and the management can be classified into three types - the University maintained colleges, the trust colleges and the Orissa Government colleges.
The university offers an undergraduate program in engineering (Duration: 4 years) that awards a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) degree and in architecture (Duration: 5 years) that awards a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch). The university also offers postgraduate programs that lead to Master of Technology (M.Tech), Master of Science (Engg) [M.Sc (Engg)], Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D). The M.Sc (Engg) and Ph.D are research degrees while the rest are taught degrees.
