 Jamboo is one of the most popular characters in Indian comics series published and distributed by Tulsi comics. The comic book character of Jamboo was much admired by Indian comics readers in the late 1980s and early 1990s. The Jamboo character was created by Ved Prakash Sharma for Tulsi comics. Jamboo comics series were published in Hindi language.
Concept of Jamboo According to the comics, Jamboo was created by a professor, whose brain was transplanted into his body. Jamboo gets abandoned in an alien planet and becomes the leader of the alien species by terminating the present native ruler, by defeating him in a duel. Eventually his relation with the native alien species develops and Jamboo helps them to restructure their society and rescue them from external attacks and hostilities. Jamboo finds out about Shanichar, who is his doppelganger. He also discovers in his previous life, Jamboo was tormented and murdered by Shanichar. Thus when Jamboo was created, the image and powers of Shanichar got imbibed in his sub-conscious mind, that is the mind of the professor. Jamboo and Shanichar finally face off with each other in a battle where Shanichar is killed with the acidic water of the planet. The cure to the acidic properties lied in a special element of the native planet. After Jamboo successfully defeated Shanichar, a new character named Sarkata was introduced into the plot. Jamboo locates a head which tells him that his body contains a liquid that his body contains a liquid. Moreover the liquid grants its consumer the power of immortality. At that time Jamboo could not realize that the entire information was false and he was being cheated. Jamboo started his quest of searching for the entire body the liquid could only be extracted if the whole body is brought together. After facing many obstacles and hurdles, Jamboo managed to accumulate all parts of the body and brought it back to India so that he could extract the magical liquid known as Amrit. But Sarkata refused to give anything to Jamboo and it was revealed that his real name was Sarkanda. The rest of the plot centered on Jamboo's struggle to win over Sarkata. Publications of Jamboo Jamboo comics were published on a monthly basis and Tulsi comics released many titles of the character.
