Shatchakra Beda is part of the practical yoga process. It can be taught only by a guru. Jivatma in the subtle body, the container of the five vital airs and mind in its aspects of manas, ahangkara, and buddhi; the five organs of action and perception is united with the Kulakundalini. Kama Vayu in the Muladhara is a form of the Apana Vayu is given a leftward revolution. The fire round Kundalini is awakened. One who is asleep around svayambhu-linga, with her coils three circles and a half closing the entrance of brahma-dvara, on being awakened, enter that door and move upwards in unison with the jivatma.
Brahma, Savitri, Dakini-Shakti, the Devas, vija, and vritti are dissolved in the body of Kundalini. The Mahimandala is converted into the vija and is merged into her body. When Kundalini leaves the muladhara, that lotus again closes and hangs downwards. When Kundalini reaches the svadhishthana-chakra, that lotus opens out thereby the flower is lifted upwards. Once Kundalini enters Mahavishnu, Mahalakshmi, Sarasvati, Rakini Shakti, Deva, Matrikas, and vritti, Vaikunthadhama, Golaka and the Deva and Devi reside therein are dissolved in the body of Kundalini.
The earth is dissolved in apas and apas in turn is converted into the vija vang that remains in the body of Kundalini. The Varuna vija "vang" is dissolved in fire, which remains in the body of the Devi as the Vija "rang." This chakra is called the Brahma-granthi. Piercing of this chakra involves considerable pain, physical disorder and sometimes even disease. This is the reason why directions of an experienced Guru are necessary. Kundalini after this reaches the anahata chakra. The vija of Tejas, "rang," disappears in Vayu and after Vayu converts into its vija "Yang" merges into body of Kundalini. This is known as Vishnu-granthi. Kundalini then rises to the abode of the vishuddha chakra.
The vija of Vayu, "yang," is dissolved in akasha which is merged in the body of Kundalini. The Devi reaches the ajnachakra piercing the lalana chakra, where Parama Shiva, Siddha-Kali, the Deva, guna, and all else therein are absorbed into her body. The sadhaka, thinking of the vayu vija "yang" as being in the left nostril, inhales through Ida, thereby making japa of the vija sixteen times. He makes japa of the vija sixty-four times after closing both nostrils.
Upon the red coloured vija "rang" the sadhaka meditates, inhales, does japa sixteen times and then closes the nostrils. Thereafter he exhales through the right nostril doing japa thirty-two times. He then meditates upon the white chandravija "thang" after which he inhales through Ida, making japa sixteen times. Kundalini, who has enjoyed her union with Paramashiva, sets out on to return in the way she had come. When she passes through each chakra whatever she has absorbed there come out from her and take several forms in the chakra.
She again reaches the Muladhara when all that is described to be in the chakras are in the positions which they had occupied before her arousing. The Guru`s instructions are to go above the ajna-chakra. After this chakra has been pierced sadhaka can reach the brahmasthana without any help.
