Home Remedies for Vaginitis
A decoction of the herb Chebulic Myrobalan has proved very functional for vaginal irritation and inflammation. It should be used as an external douche to wash the vulvar parts. When there is a thick white discharge, washing the part with decoction made with neem leaves and chebulic myrobalan fruits will be of great help.
Yogurt is one of the most common home remedies for Vaginitis. Yogurt contains beneficial bacteria known as lactobacillus that help fight off bad bacteria and help maintain healthy vaginal pH balance. Dip a cotton pad in yogurt and apply it on the affected area. Leave it on for half an hour and then wash the area thoroughly with fresh water. Repeat 3 times a day until the symptoms are gone.
Garlic is a natural antibiotic that can help treat Vaginitis. Also, its antifungal properties will keep the bad bacteria in check. Crush 3 to 4 garlic cloves. Smear the mashed garlic on the affected area. Leave it on for 20 minutes and then rinse the area with lukewarm water. Follow this remedy once daily for several months.
Mud Therapy for Vaginitis
Another method of treatment considered valuable is the wet girdle pack for about an hour. For this treatment, thin cotton underwear and thick or woollen underwear are required. The thin underwear should be wrung in cold water and worn by the patient. The thick dry underwear should be worn above the wet underwear. If the patient feels chill, she should be covered with a blanket. This treatment helps lessen inflammation. A mud pack on the abdomen for 10 minutes twice on a daily basis also helps diminish inflammation.
Colour Therapy for Vaginitis
Chromotherapy or colour therapy can also be used in the treatment of this disease. Blue light treatment given to the afflicted region for an hour accompanied with vaginal irrigation using green coloured charged water helps reduce the infection. After recovery, it is necessary to adopt proper eating habits and hygienic living conditions.
