Candidates, who are willing to appear for Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT), can obtain the application forms by payment of the requisite amount from any of the participating institutes or colleges. Students can also download the application form from the official website at the time of this entrance test. Candidates must remember that the completed or duly filled application forms must be submitted along with a bank demand draft before the last date of submission.
Eligibility Criteria for Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT) A minimum of bachelor's degree certificate in any discipline or stream of study under any recognized University is required for appearing for this entrance test. Commerce, arts, science, engineering, management, technology background will be given preference. Overall 50% marks in aggregate in all the subjects including the language subjects are essential in order to apply for K-MAT. Students who are in their final year of college or graduation and awaiting their final result can also apply. In that case, at the time of admission the candidates will have to submit the proof of passing their degree course with a minimum of 50% marks. Moreover, the eligibility criteria also differ as per the requirements of the colleges or the courses that the students have opted for. A student can opt for either MCA or MBA or both the courses.
Pattern of Examination
The entrance test pattern of Karnataka Management Aptitude Test (K-MAT) might differ or vary from one year to another. The candidates have to appear for basic test on mathematical skills and language comprehension. In case of the MBA programme, the candidates need to appear for an aptitude test and in case of the MCA programme; the interested candidates need to appear for the general logical reasoning test. Combined MBA and MCA programme
The main sections of this test covers sections like Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Basic Aptitude and Logical Reasoning. Its total duration is 160 minutes.
There is no pre-defined syllabus for this entrance test. The students need to follow the sample papers of previous year's exams and prepare accordingly.
The candidates are short listed on the basis of their performance in the written test that is the overall percentage of marks obtained in all the sections. The test is designed mainly to measure the analytical, communication and knowledge skills of the students. Selected candidates are then called for participating in a group discussion that is followed by an interview.
