In India, Medical Entrance Exams are organized on both national level basis and on state level. These state medical entrance exams are the way through which one can get admission to some of the most prestigious medical institutes of the country. There are numerous state level medical colleges that conduct their own entrance exams. These state medical entrance exams are based on the syllabus of 10+2 or 12th standard. Those aspirants, who are willing to pursue their higher education in the professional field of medicine, will have to clear the state level medical entrance tests. These exams are meant completely for the aspirants who are residing within the concerned state.

Students need to submit the completed application forms along with the registration fee and the required documents.
Eligibility Criteria for the State Medical Entrance Exams
The minimum eligibility criterion for the medical entrance exams is a pass in the 10+2 examination or any other equivalent examination with Chemistry, Biology and Physics as core subjects. Students with B.Sc degree can also appear for the entrance tests. Moreover, the candidate must have completed 17 years of age at the time of college admissions. Minimum of 50 per cent marks is mandatory that means a candidate must have obtained 50 per cent marks in all the three core subjects at the qualifying exam.

Pattern of Examination
The pattern of the medical entrance tests usually vary from one state to other state. Basically the questions in these state level medical entrance tests are asked from Chemistry, Biology (including both zoology and botany), Physics and English. The papers are of objective kind comprising multiple options types of questions. Generally, English language or the official language of the state is the mode of giving the tests.
The syllabus of the state level medical entrance tests usually includes questions from the core subjects like Chemistry, Physics, Biology (Botany and Zoology) and English. The basic standard of the questions is usually that of 10+2 level, followed by the boards throughout the country.
Students are selected on the basis of their performances in the written entrance test and the overall aggregate of score that he/she obtained in all the sections of the written test. This is the basic pattern of selection of the students. However it might differ as per the pattern of examination of various states.
