![]() History of Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce The College was founded in 1943 by the Deccan Education Society with the aim of providing trained manpower in the field of commerce and business to the country. It was inaugurated by Sir Ardeshir Dalal on June 24, 1943. The college was affiliated with the Bombay University till 1949. It got affiliated with University of Pune after 1949. Courses offered by Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce The majors offered by the college include B.Com, M.Com, M.Phil, Phd, BBA, BBM IB, BCA, PGDIB, PGDT, PGDBF, and MBA (YCMOU). Several languages are taught in the college including German, Spanish, Basic English, Advance English, French, Japanese, Hindi, Marathi and Tamil. Autonomous courses like Computerized Accounts Writing and Business English are also offered by the college. Admissions are given strictly on merit basis. The admission procedure begins in the month of July. Facilities of Brihan Maharashtra College of Commerce The college has well maintained infra-structural facilities for its students. It has a two-storied building for well-stocked library, a commerce laboratory, a computer laboratory, a research centre, staff quarters, a full-fledged sports ground, students' hostel and common rooms for boys and girls.
