![]() St. John's Pharmacy College (SJPC), Bangaluru started offering the Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) course in 1983 and the Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm) course was started in SJPC, in 1985. The college is open to all persons irrespective of race, religion, caste or community and it is aimed at advancing knowledge in Pharmacy and Management. It is willing to achieve the goal through research and teaching and is also aimed at playing a significant role in shaping health care in India. The motto of the college is "Knowledge is Power". St. John's Pharmacy College (SJPC), Bangaluru mainly offers two courses at the undergraduate level and the courses include 2 years Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) and the 4 years Degree in Pharmacy (B.Pharm). The college teaches the subjects like Introductory Mathematics/Biology; Mathematics, Physical Pharmacy, Human Anatomy, Physiology and Health Education, Pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Organic Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Inorganic Chemistry, Computer Science with Work Assignment etc. as part of the B.Pharm course. The B.Pharm course of the college is divided into 4 semesters of 1 year each. The students of the college are bound to complete a specified period of practical training, prior to registering as a pharmacist, as well. According to the rules and regulations that St. John's Pharmacy College (SJPC), Bangaluru follows, while admission, the students are required to fulfill some specific criterions. For getting admission in the D.Pharm course, the candidates are required to have passed the two year P.U.C examination of Karnataka / XII Std. or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry & Biology. On the other hand, the candidates desirous of getting admitted in B.Pharm Course, are required to have passed the two year P.U.C examination of Karnataka / XII Std. or equivalent with a minimum 50% marks (40% percent- SC/ST and Group A) in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Mathematics. The candidates, who have passed the final D.Pharm examination conducted by an authority approved by the P.C.I with a minimum of 50% of aggregate marks in all subjects of Final D.Pharm, are also considered eligible for admission in B.Pharm. |
