The Government Medical College (GMC), Srinagar works with a view to achieve several aims and objectives. Apart from imparting medical education to the students of the state, the college also strives hard to provide quality treatment facilities to the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The college offers many courses in different fields of medical science at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The main course offered by the college is MBBS at the undergraduate level and the postgraduate courses include MD, MS and Diploma courses. The college produces around a 100 Medical Graduates each year and the students are admitted purely on the basis of Merit obtained in the Common Entrance Examination. The examination is held by the Board of Professional Entrance Examination once every year.
