Katuri Medical College and Hospital, KMCH was inaugurated on 17th September, 1997 by the then Prime Minister of India, I. K. Gujral, in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The hospital was founded by a group of educationalists, with a view to repay back their social debits to the people and land. With an aim to provide proper medical facilities to the masses, Katuri Medical College and Hospital has established a state of the art medical educational and health care complex. Giving proper shelter to the HIV affected people and providing them with a hope of leading peaceful life hereafter are also the principal objectives of the KMCH.

Katuri Medical College and Hospital, Gunturu, Andhra Pradesh Katuri Medical College and Hospital (KMCH), Guntur is on a mission to prepare the students through regular professional courses in the fields of medical and allied sciences for the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS). The institutions is also aspiring to become an additional supplier from the private sector of medical service providers; key policy makers in medical services and experts/specialists (with additional training) of medical services in industries, public institutions and private institutions. Becoming a catalyst in ensuring that research priorities are responsive to the felt needs of the community, spearheading prioritization of primary medical and health care for the majority of the people, are also a part of the mission of KMCH, Guntur. The medical institution is trying hard to create demand for better medical services to the majority of the rural and urban population, especially to the poorest communities, as well.

After its inauguration in 1997, the Katuri Medical College and Hospital (KMCH), Guntur has already produced several qualified medical practitioners, who are doing well in their respective professions. The KMCH is offering many courses including MBBS Course that is equivalent to the M.D. Course of Tanzania. It offers some short term courses for Laboratory Technicians, Pharmacy Technicians and Premedical Courses. The KMCH offers some post graduate courses in the fields of Internal Medicine, Anatomy, Physiology, Surgery, Ophthalmology and Paediatrics, as well. Apart from that, some fellowship courses in certain super specialties are also being offered in the Katuri Medical College and Hospital (KMCH), Guntur. The College of Medicine is dedicated to become the centre of excellence of medical and health knowledge advancement, expansion, transmission and enhancement through training, research, outreach and public service.

The Hospital, situated in the campus of the Katuri Medical College and Hospital (KMCH), Guntur is equipped with all the modern and state of the art equipment and instruments to render the best and quality health care. The hospital is aimed at providing quality health care at an affordable cost to one and all. The hospital has the major departments like Medicine and Surgery; departments of OBG, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics and Physiotherapy, Radiology and imaging department with CT scan, ultra scans and X-Ray machines, ENT, department of Oto-Rhino-Larngology, Dental Department, Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Department of Paediatrics and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. A highly dedicated maintenance and biomedical engineering team has always been working for proper upkeep of the equipments and instruments in the Katuri Medical College and Hospital, (KMCH), Guntur.
