In the Puranas it is mentioned that Sataydhriti was the son of Satananda. Sataydhriti was proficient in military science.
Satyadhriti was attracted to the beauty of the nymph or Apsara Urvashi. They together had two children, a boy and a girl, who were found exposed in a clump of long Sara grass, by the Raja Santana whilst out hunting.
