As per the Vishnu Puranas, Medha is said to be one of the three sons of Priyavrata.
Priyavrata was the son of Sraddhadeva Manu was the King of Dravida during the era of the Matsya Purana.
Medha adopted a religious life remembering the occurrences of a prior existence they did not covet dominion, but diligently practised the rites of devotion. He meditated without any interest and looked for no reward.
Medha is also the name of the daughter of Daksha who was married to Dharma.
