Asit was the son of Raja Unruvasandhi of the solar race. In Ramayana, Asit is described as a fierce and warfare loving prince. He had fought many battles with the rival kings in Haihayas, Talajanghas and Sasivaindhus style. Asit was very strong and wild in nature. But he had to pay for this in later period of his life. He lost in one such battle and had to flee from his kingdom with his two wives.
