Swami Shraddhanand College , DelhiSwami Shraddhanand College is a premiere college of Delhi University functioning under the `trusteeship` of the Government of Delhi. It is co Education College, which offers courses on various subjects both for undergraduate and postgraduate students. Although it was started on a modest way in the Gandhi Ashram building in Narela it now has earned its place amongst one of the leadings colleges of Delhi. The college commences at 8.30 am. With each period lasting for nearly fifty five minutes Presently it is located in North in the midst of nature`s beauty with spacious playgrounds. Opportunities are ample for nurturing the culture of sporting activities. Various games and sports are organized where students can wholeheartedly participate with lots of enthusiasm. Achievements in extracurricular activities also have been felicitated.

It does not mean that education has taken a backseat. On the basis of merits special prizes are given to the students. In fact Swami Shraddhanand College has a treasure of very good and efficient faculty staffs. Special scholarships are being provided for poor meritorious students. Harbans Lal Anand Memorial Scholarship ,Deepali Yadav Memorial Scholarship, Pratap Singh Memorial Scholarship ,Shraddhanand Memorial Scholarship are significant. Some of them also can study here almost at free of cost. A number of student societies and associations have been formed which improve the environment of learning and education within the college.

Interestingly for every subject a society is formed for stimulating curiosity of the student towards that particular subject. Awareness about the practical application also is done through these societies. Lectures, conferences, exhibitions and so on are organized in order to make the study more exciting and also relevant for the society at large. These are namely Geography Association, Science Association, Cultural Society, Sahityaki, English Association, Hindi Parishad , Planning Forum, Economics Society, Commerce Society, Botanical Society, Sanskrit Society , Agrochemical Society, Microbiology Association, History Association, Political Science Association ,World University Service, Audio-Visual Society, Photographic Association, Mathematics Association, U.N. Association, Dramatic Society ,Environment Society, Zoology Society, Physics Association. A handful of centers like Career Placement Center, Women Development Centre, Environmental last years education center, Writer`s forum and Art Foundation. Medical aid is granted to students as well.

Swami Shraddhanand College offers courses at undergraduate level like BA (Hons) in subjects like Hindi, History, Geography ; BSc (Hons) in Zoology, Botany , Physics, Microbilogy. BSc ( General ) , B A ( Pass), Bcom( Pass) also are offered to the students. One also can pursue Masters in Hindi from Swami Shraddhanand College.

Another strong point of this Swami Shraddhanand College is the College Library where students can read at a peaceful ambience. A spacious hall also serves as a reading zone. It also has a huge collection of books. Presently over sixty thousand volumes are stocked in the library. Besides one can get access magazines and periodicals which offer information on current happenings.

For inculcating literary fervor amongst the people, the Swami Shraddhanand College publishes an annual magazine called "Shraddha". The magazine is published in 3 languages like English, Hindi and Sanskrit.
