Maharaja Agrasen College, Mayur Vihar, DelhiMaharaja Agrasen College was set up in 1994 in order to spread the cause of learning and education to a greater extent. Located at Pocket 4, Phase 1, Mayur Vihar, Delhi-110091, it caters to the educational requirements of the densely populated region of East Delhi. The college is entirely financed by the Govt. of NCT, Delhi. Although the college is housed in a temporary school building, its infrastructure is pretty good. It houses a computer center, a fully computerised Library, well equipped laboratories, state - of - the - art conference hall etc.

Maharaja Agrasen College had a humble beginning when only 2 courses, namely B.com (Hons.) and B.A. (Pass) were offered to its students. Within a short span of 10 years, the College has earned the repute of being one of the prominent colleges of Delhi University, with a total strength of nearly one thousand students. It provides an outstanding educational milieu for its students.

Presently, Maharaja Agrasen College imparts learning in various undergraduate courses. These include B.A. (Hons.) Business Economics, B.A. (Hons.) Hindi, B.A. (Hons.) English, B.A. (Hons.) Journalism, B.A. (Hons.) Political Science, B.Com. (Hons.), B.Sc. (Hons.) Electronics, B.Sc. (Gen.) Group A with Computer Science, B.Sc. (Gen.) Mathematical Sciences. Students of Maharaja Agrasen College can also pursue B.A. (Pass) Restructured Course.

The library of Maharaja Agrasen College is well equipped and updated and subscribes to numerous periodicals, and newspapers in languages like Hindi and English. There is an airy reading room. The library is fully computerised.

A Computer Centre has been built in Maharaja Agrasen College, housing 3 three laboratories. In fact this centre is one of the biggest among all the college computer centers of Delhi University. The laboratories stock fifty-three computers with LAN connection and latest software facilities. Maharaja Agrasen College has a fully air-conditioned and plush conference room. It has all kinds of facilities like audio/visual, which is perfect for holding activities like conferences, workshops, disputations, panel discussion etc.

Apart from academics special attention is rendered on nurturing the creative faculty of the students of Maharaja Agrasen College. In other words, it initiates the process of bringing an overall metamorphosis to its students. With this view in mind, Maharaja Agrasen College has created the Cultural Council. It is a body constituting students and teachers, who contrive and carry out several college festivals and programmes. The Debating Society, `Anant`-The Theatre Group, The Performing Arts Society, are the several workings groups which run under the supervision and guidance of this council. `PLEXUS` is the gala event organised as the college festival. Other events like SPICEMACAY, Fresher`s welcome, Annual Day, Farewell etc. are all coordinated with great exuberance and energy. Magazines also testify the cultural enthusiasm amongst the students. AGRANIKA is a yearly magazine that is brought out by the college with the purpose of imbuing a literary fervour within the students. The college also brings out a wall magazine `MURAL`, where students contribute their own articles, creative pieces, collage, cartoons and posters. It thus becomes a forum for student interaction and conversation.

For promoting sports, Maharaja Agrasen College has created its own sports field at the new college site in Vasundhara Enclave. Students can gain access to this facility after taking prior consent from the Department of Physical Education of the college. Sports Day called `SPORTS MAC` is feted every year at the new College premise. National Cadet Corps (NCC) training also began functioning in 1998. "Student Service Centre" renders various computer-based services such as computing facilities, visualisation facilities etc

. Student`s Council of Maharaja Agrasen College is a valuable podium for expressing their opinion, suggestions and grievances and also facilitates a free and easy going communication with all the teachers and college authorities. Financial help in the form of fee exemption is given to the worthy students on submission of application on a prescribed form which can be obtained from the college office.
