Numerous towns and cities have developed in the states of India. The state of Haryana too is not an exception. Amongst several towns, one distinguishes the significance of Kalayat. In fact it is a city lying in Haryana state. A municipal committee has been built in order to look after its administration.

It has been noted that Kalayat's average literacy rate constitutes 56 %, which is even lower than 59.5 %, the average literacy rate of India. On individual basis, male literacy constitutes 65 %. However female literacy rate is less and thus constitutes 47 %.
