Extraction of Geranium Oil
There are about 700 different varieties of the Geranium plant, yet only 10 supply essential oil in viable quantities, since the normal garden geranium produce far too little oil for extraction. The oil of Geranium is extracted through steam distillation of stems and leaves of the Geranium plant. Alpha Pinene, Myrcene, Limonene, Menthone, Linalool, Geranyl Acetate, Citronellol, Geraniol and Geranyl Butyrate are the main components of this oil.

Properties of Geranium Oil
It is the oil with cooling, moisturizing properties. It acts as antidepressant, nervine, aphrodisiac, and menopause hormone balancer, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory oil, which has a pleasant odour and it also acts as a natural insect repellent. It mixes well with the oils like Rose, Clarysage, Rosewood, Sandalwood, Lavender, Champa, Musk, Vanilla, Bergamot, Patchouli and Clove.
