Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University was set up in the year 1985 in Hyderabad, the capital city of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in order to serve Telegu speaking people.

Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University, HyderabadPotti Sreeramulu Telugu University is located in Hyderabad, the capital city of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for 10 years, has four campuses at Sri Sailam and Rajahmundry, Warangal, Telangana and Kuchipudi.

Later the State Government combined Siddhendra Kalakshetram, Sahitya, Sangeetha, Nataka, Telugu Bhasha Samithi Nritya and Lalitha Kala Academies, International Telugu Institute and into the University.

Objectives of Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University
Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University concentrates on teaching and researching in Language and Literature, History and Culture, Fine Arts and Performing Arts, religion and philosophy of the Telugu community.

Potti Sreeramulu Telugu University has eight schools: School of Language Development, School of Fine Arts, School of Social and other Sciences, School of Comparative Studies, School of Literature, School of History, Culture and Archaeology, School of Folk and Tribal Lore, Sri Siddhendra Yogi Kala Pitham. There are 18 departments under these schools. There are three centres in Hyderabad campus- International Telugu Centre, Centre for preparation of Encyclopaedia and Centre for Distance Education.
