While introspecting the states of India it becomes inevitable for any person to come across multitudes of towns and cities that have flourished by leaps and bounds. The state of Gujarat also is not an exception. Kosamba is the name of a census town which is located in the district of Surat district of the same state of India. It lies in the midway between places like Surat and Bharuch. Specifically, it lies 35 km south of Bharuch.
Towns like Kim and Olpad have built in the adjoining areas.

In order to satisfy the curiosity of a layman to get acquainted with the salient traits of a town it is inevitable on his part to identify completely the situation of its demography. Toward that, several demographers have been appointed who conducted surveys and also prepared reports on the basis of their findings. One such significant report is the Census report that has been brought out in the year 2001. Kosamba showed a population measurement of 13,548. Just like many places of Indian Territory, the number of males is more than that of females. This fact can be supported by the individual status of male and female literacy rates of Kosamba. In other words , male populace constitutes 51 % , while the rate of female literacy constitutes 49 % only.
Literacy rate is a relevant information about Kosamba . Since high literacy rate indicates the growth and development of any town it is quite apparent that in Kosamba also, development has taken place to some extent. This has been proved with facts as well. The average literacy rate of Kosamba constitutes 67 %, which is higher than 59.5 %, the average literacy rate of India. Male literacy is 73 %, which also proves that males are more inclined to education. 61 % is the rate of female literacy. In Kosamba town, 14 % of the population is below six years of age.
In Kosamba access points have been built to facilitate connectivity with other places of India. Airport at Vadodara and Kosamba Junction Railway Station lie in vicinity. NH 8 runs through Kosamba.
