Amongst them one easily could distinguish Kavisuryanagar as a significant place. Besides being a town , Kavisuryanagar also has been recognized as a `notified area committee`. It can also be spelt as Kabisuryanagar. It is situated in the district of Ganjam of Orissa.

The popular saying is that the name of Kavisuryanagar, also known as Kabisurya Nagar has been derived from Kabisurya Baladev Rath. He gained popularity as a famous writer of the ancient period.

It has gained recognition as a market place for all types of green vegetables which are grown in nearby villages like Balyasara,Bolasara, Brahmanichhai, Mantapada, Arabindanagar, Gudiali,Jarada,Athagada,Pathara, Golamundala, Sundariapda and many more.

Applique, stone cutting, wood sculpture, and also brass bell metal, paper , terracotta, patta chitras, betel nut, textile toys and many more are quite noteworthy.

Naturally being incorporated in the Ganjam district, the people of Kavisuryanagar too follow the trend of the district.
