Gopal Saini, born in 1954 is a former middle distance runner of India, still holds national record in men 3000 meter Steeplechase event held at Tokyo in the year 1981 with timing of 8.30.88 minutes. In the year 1981, he was conferred Arjuna award, which is the highest prestigious award in the field of sports and of course the most desired award for the players, for their achievements. He also represented in 1980 22nd Olympic Games in Soviet Union for men 5000m race.
He originally hails from Rajasthan. He practiced on terrains for strength of legs. He currently works in SBBJ and also owns a restaurant in Jaipur.
