In the state of Maharashtra many towns and cities are found. Amongst them, Hadgaon has been marked out to be important. Certain information is also being collected from the office of demographers. In fact, in the district of Nanded , Hadgaon is a city and also ruled by a municipal council.
The geographical location too has got significance. The Hadgaon city is situated at 19.5° N 77.67° E. Hadgaon has an average altitude of four hundred and fourteen meters (1358 feet).
Throwing some light on the demography of the Hadgaon city, the census report of the year 2001 has rightly pointed out that the Hadgaon comprises of large population of 23,328. Out of the total population, female comprises of forty eight percent while the female percentage rate has been measured as fifty two percent. What is interesting is to note that the literacy rate of the Hadgaon city is even higher than the national average. Average literacy rate of Hadgaon is sixty five percent while that of the whole nation has been counted to be 59.5 percent. To be specific, male and female literacy rates are 73 and 55 percent respectively. In the whole of the Hadgaon city, sixteen percent of the total population is less than six years of age.
The city of Hadgaon has got a history behind it. In the year 1956, with the complete reorganization of the Indian states, the entire district of Nanded too comprised of 6 talukas . Hadgaon is amongst them, the rest five talukas are Kandhar , Biloli, Degloor, Mudhor etc.
Due to the geographical proximity to the dense forestry, it is only natural that the Hadgaon city is thronged with several trees like teak, bamboo, Moh and Tendu. These trees are found in the forests. According to the surveyors, also collection of forest materials has become one of the important occupations of the people of the Hadgaon city. The Hadgaon city too is suitable for growth of several crops as well. Both Kharif and Rabi crops are grown in various places of Habibpur city. Wheat, grams are some of the rabi crops, while rice, cotton, toor, moong are some of the Kharif crops. Moreover other types of crops that are grown with the aid of irrigational facilities are sugarcane and banana. Juicy fruits like guavas, Lemons, Oranges, Sweet limes; Mangoes too are being produced by the people of this Hadgaon city. This makes the fact quite obvious that majority of the people of Hadgaon city practice agriculture.
