
Rudra Pratap Singh was born on December 6, 1985 at Rai Bereli in
Uttar Pradesh. He is a left arm fast medium bowler and a Right-handed batsman. Singh has played for India in One Day Cricket, Test cricket and Twenty20. Currently, He also played in the 2011
IPL, for team Kochi Tuskers
Kerala. In the U-19 world cup of 2004, he took 8 wickets at an average of 24.75.He picked up 34 wickets in the
Ranji games for Uttar Pradesh, which help him to get chance in the national squad.
He picked up two wickets in his second over of international cricket, against Zimbabwe at Harare in September. In the third match he smashed Sri Lanka by taking 4 wickets in 35 runs earned the title of man of match. In January 2006, Rudra Pratap Singh made his test debut in the 2nd test against Pakistan at Faisabad and won the man of the match award by taking 5 wickets. In the 4th match of the ODI series against Pakistan by securing 4 wickets. He helped India in winning the series. Recently in England tour his performance was good. He took 5/59 at Lord`s his first five-wicket-haul in Tests and also managed to pick up 7 wickets in the series. In the ICC World Cup Twenty20 tournament in South Africa he was the second highest wicket taker as he took 12 wickets in 7 matches.
His ODI debut match was against Zimbabwe at Harare, held on September 4th, 2005. He has played 55 ODI matches and scored a total of 104 and his highest score is 23 with an average of 10.40. In bowling, he has taken 65 wickets, and lost out 2201, out of 2433 balls. His last match was against Pakistan at Centurion, on September 26, 2009. His first Twenty20 match was against Railways held at
Jaipur, on April 3rd, 2007. He played 79 Twenty20 matches and scored total 93 runs, with a highest of 18 and average of 4.89. In bowling, he took 94 wickets and gave 2165 runs out of 1728 balls.
RP Singh joined the Indian team on August 2011, for the remaining tour of England. He was called back after a period of 3 year test absence, due to
Zaheer Khan`s injury. His last match was against Kent at Canterbury, on August 26, 2011.
