Vaiphei Tribe

Amongst the various tribes of Vaiphei inhabit in various states of India. Especially in Churachandpur district, these Vaiphei tribes are found in every hook and nook of the area. These Vaiphei tribes usually speak in a special dialect and therefore their tongue is different from those of other tribes, namely, the Gangte, Zou and Paite tribes.

To be specific, this language of the people is very similar to Gangte. The way they use to spell is quite similar to few other languages, especially, Paite. For writing , these Vaiphei tribal communities use Roman scripts. As far as their adaptability to any profession is concerned, these Vaiphei tribes are mainly agriculturists. Jhum cultivation is widely practiced to a great extent. There is little population that even has taken up the trading as their profession. Forest products like timber have been utilized for numerous occasions.
