Sachin Pilgaonkar , the veteran actor is a very popular name in the world of Marathi and Hindi film industry. This extremely talented actor saw the light of the world in the year 1958 and made his debut as a child artiste at the tender age of four in a Marathi film called `Aa Majhe Marg Ekla` in the year 1962. has made a mark in the Bollywood film industry as a child artiste by appearing in as many as 65 films. Some of his other movies include `Jewel Thief`, `Brahmachari` and `Zimbo Ka Beta`. But he carved out a niche for himself in the hearts of the audience by his chocolate-boy image in the romantic flick `Geet Gata Chal`. He has also featured in a hugely successful Bhojpuri film `Nadiya Ke Paar` way back in 1982. The Hindi remake of this film `Hum Aapke Hain Kaun` went out to be a chartbuster in the history of Hindi films.

After proving his skills in the art of acting Sachin Pilgaonkar moved into the production circuit. The popular soap `Tu Tu Main Main` made him prominent as a producer. The serial ran for as long as eleven years. He proudly claims that `Tu Tu Main Main` was the first Hindi serial to be telecasted on the Star Plus channel. In fact this serial went to become so popular that at one point of time it secured as much as eight points on the TRP. Recently he has also directed the serial `Kadvee Khatti Meethi` which is also a comedy based on the same story line of `Tu Tu Main Main`. In fact it is an extension of that serial. Sachin Pilgaonkar declared in a recent interview that this is a serial for those who will identify themselves with the characters and have a hearty laugh and can also laugh at their own expenses. This multi-faceted persona did not stop here. He has also lent his voice in all the films and serials made by him. He claims that music had been a major part of his life and he can never seem to depart from it.

Sachin Pilgaonkar along with his wife Supriya Pilgaonkar , another popular actress won the celebrity dance show `Nach Baliye`. They were the senior most contestants of the show but always gave their best performance on stage. They never thought that they would win and always felt every performance was their last one. In this way they continued giving up the best of their talents and emerged victorious in the end. The prize money, which they won in the contest, have been set aside for their daughter`s education. They however felt sorry for the runner-ups and remarked that it was a competition and there could be only one pair of winners. Sachin Pilgaonkar also claimed that this contest has taught them that rhythm and pace are essential are not only in life and marriage but also in dance and it is all about getting the time right.
