Shankersinh Vaghela, in the
Manmohan Singh government is currently serving as the
cabinet minister in Ministry of Textiles. This politician is a multifaceted personality as his interests not only revolves around politics but also rotates in the socio-cultural arena. He is also served as the trustee of a number of socio-religious and educational institutions. He is effortlessly striving for providing medical aid, free food, clothes, books, schools and college fees etc. to the poor and needy. He is also associated as Director with drama activities.
This eminent personality Shankersinh Vaghela was born on 21st July 1940 to father Shri Laxmansinh and mother Smt. Nathuba at Vasan, Distt. Gandhinagar (
Gujarat). He is married to Gulab Ba and the couple has three sons. He did M.A. in Economics from Gujarat University,
Ahmedabad (Gujarat). He represents the Kapadvanj constituency of Gujarat. He is a member of the
Indian National Congress.
