The India census of 2001 unveils that Dadri has a population of 57,457 with 54% males, 46% females and 18% children less than 6 years of age. On an average, there are 62% literate males and 46% literate females. The average literacy rate of 54% is lower than the national average of 59.5. The town has considerable historical significance because it played a major role in the battle of freedom in 1857, when its Gurjar ruler "Rao Umrao Singh Bhati" rose against the British rule. |
