The BMS College of Engineering is situated in Bull Temple Road in
Bangalore, the Garden City and Silicon Valley of India. It is affiliated to the VTU. The college, which crossed 50 years in the year 1997, is one of the oldest engineering colleges in the state of
Karnataka.
The BMS College of Engineering offers undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields of Engineering. This college is affiliated to the Bangalore University. It is a private college sponsored to some extent by the Government of Karnataka. It provides Bachelor`s degree in eleven fields of Engineering. These fields are Industrial and Production Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Sciences and Technology, Instrumentation Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering and Transportation Engineering. Several post-graduate programmes (of one to half years period) leading to the Master`s degree of the Bangalore University are also offered in the subjects of Civil Engineering (Construction Technology), Mechanical Engineering (Machine Design), Electronics Engineering, Computer Science, Power Electronics. Other courses include Engineering in Medical Electronics, Master of Computer Applications (MCA) and Master of Business Administration (MBA).

The aim of the BMS College of Engineering is to provide an ambience for teaching and research that are secure, relaxed, contemporary, and of the best quality. The college has all amenities to cater to the needs of all faculty, personnel and students of the College. The college imparts education to both Indian and foreign students.
Apart from India, students from various other countries like Tanzania, Kenya, Botswana, Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have been benefitted from the college. Other than the above-mentioned courses, the college has a separate department for training foreign students from developing countries. This department has entered MOUs (Memoranda of Understanding) with many overseas universities for exchange programs and training. A total of 3500 students are enrolled into this university. More than 500 overseas students have passed out from this institution till date.
The BMS College of Engineering has large and well-resourced buildings that include classrooms, staff rooms and self-contained library. The laboratories and workshops contain up to date and refined equipments. The faculty includes highly qualified, committed and dutiful teachers. Separat hostel lodging is available for Indian and international students.
Other attractions of the college are a sports section to provide wide variety of sports, a multipurpose hall to hold cultural activities, a mountain climbing club which holds many daring activities, an internet laboratory to provide for the needs for research and information over internet and a bank for the financial needs of all students and faculty as well as a co-operative society.
