Marine Drive was constructed in the year 1920s and 1930s on land rescued from the sea. Marine Drive is officially called Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Road, but was earlier identified as Sonapur amongst local Marathi populace. Marine Drive presents a beautiful and scenic atmosphere, with palm trees lined up along the road, attracts not only the tourists, but also it is a place of repose among the pedestrians and the paradise of morning walkers.

To visit Marine Drive, one needs to reach Mumbai via air or by train from anywhere in India. The best time to visit Marine drive is in the early morning between 5am- 8am.
