Beaches in Mumbai are a popular spot among the tourists. The city of Mumbai
is filled with magnificent beaches, having shimmering sun, sand and surf. These beaches are like the soul of this city of dreams, where people enjoy their evenings. The entire coastline of the city is meticulously dotted with many beaches, which provides a much needed breathing space to the city dwellers.
This commercial capital of India is an excellent fun destination for all those who love the sun and sand awash with the breaking waters of gushing sea. Though not intended for swimming or sunbathing, Mumbai Beaches have a charm of their own. Some of the important beaches in Mumbai are Chowpatty Beach, Madh Island, Versova, Marve and Manori and Juhu Beach. Marine Drive is the centre of attraction for its stunning walkway, Versova Beach is known for its community of fisher folks.
Marine Drive is a meticulously laid-out avenue in South Mumbai. It is in fact an upturned 'C'-shaped six lane concrete road, which lengthens to 3 km along the coastline - a natural bay. This avenue connects Nariman Point with Malabar Hills.
Chowpatty Beach is a very famous place in Mumbai and is quite popular among tourists. This beach is not meant for swimming or sunbathing. Chowpatty Beach is located at the northern end of Marine drive, and is popular among people of all ages.
Juhu Beach, situated in the central suburb of Mumbai, is a gorgeous place to be in, which gets strokes of turquoise waves day and night. One can access this calm, tranquil and peaceful beach from Vile Parle, Santa Cruz and Andheri as well.
Madh Island Beach
Madh Island is essentially a cluster of some old-world fishing villages and farmlands, nestled comfortably on the north-west coast of city of Mumbai. Its serene beach is renowned for hosting the most ravishing parties, thrown by the upper strata of the city.
Versova Beach offers a picturesque coastline, nestled comfortably in Greater Mumbai. It is separated from Juhu Beach, attributable to a bay. The magnificent Arabian Sea
fills the sandy coastline with its cooling waters. Versova Beach is residence to the oldest inhabitants of Bombay, and is a fun destination for tourists.
