Chacha Chaudhary, Characters in Indian Comics Series
Chacha Chaudhary is one of the most popular characters in Indian comics that is published by Diamond Comics and created by cartoonist Pran in the year 1971.

The character was created by cartoonist Pran. Chacha Chaudhary is published in 10 major Indian languages includingHindi, as well as in English. It is perhaps the most popular Indian comics series and has sold around 10 million copies. Chacha Chaudhary was also produced as a Hindi television serial featuring actor Raghuvir Yadav in the lead role. Chacha Chaudhary was created by Pran Kumar Sharma in the year 1971 for Lotpot, a Hindi magazine. Within a short span of time the character became widely popular amongst the children and grown ups alike. That character of Chacha Chaudhary has also appeared with Pinki, Billoo and Lucky as a guest in other series in the Diamond Comics universe.

Concept of Chacha Chaudhary
Chacha Chaudhary is a feeble middle class elderly person but is incredibly intelligent and witty. Chacha Chaudhary adorns a red turban, a waistcoat with inside pocket, a pocket watch and always carries a wooden stick. He lives with his wife named Bini, popularly known as Chachi, his giant friend and sidekick Sabu and Rocket, a faithful street dog. Chacha Chaudhary usually goes for a walk with Rocket and Sabu whenever Chachi starts nagging. He also enjoys eating watermelons. Whenever his head or nose itches, it signifies that some trouble is around the corner.

Chacha Chaudhary is unlike any comic book superhero as he does not possess any superpowers and is not a muscle bound person. He utilises his astute intelligence and quickness of thought to counter evil criminals like robbers and thieves. Usually the villains are corrupt government officials, roadside bullies and goons, thieves, conmen and thugs. Chacha Chaudhary helps the innocent civilians and teaches the criminals moral lessons and good behavior. It is often mentioned in the series that Chacha Chaudhary`s brain is faster than computer.

Characters in Chacha Chaudhary
There are several characters in the series that take the story forward. Some of the majoe characters are mentioned below-

Bini Chachi
Bini, Chacha Chaudhary`s wife is a fat, nagging and dominating woman. She is the boss of the household and sometimes fights the villains with her rolling pin. Bini Chachi wears polka dotted saree and has a hair style of 1970s. She is a strict but caring wife.

Sabu is the sidekick and follower of Chacha Chaudhary. He is an alien from the planet Jupiterand helps Chacha with physical strength when needed. Sabu is 15 feet tall and is immensely strong. He wears only briefs, a pair of gum-boots and a pair of ear-rings. The biggest enemy of Sabu is Raaka.

Chhajju Chaudhary
He is the secret twin brother of Chacha Chaudhary that most of the characters do not know. Chhajju Chaudhary is not as talented as Chacha.

Another important character in the series is Rocket, the pet dog of Chacha Chaudhary. Moreover there are several enemies of Chacha Chaudhary such as Raaka, Gobar Singh, Dhamaka Singh and group consisting of Paleeta and Ruldu.

Diamond Comics, along with License India, are in production of an animated television series based on the character of Chacha Chaudhary, Sabu and Pinki.
