Bachelor of engineering degree in India is pursued by students passing out from science stream at +2 levels.

Bachelor of Engineering is a four year undergraduate degree course offered by a number of institutions in India in different fields. This course can be undertaken by a student after the successful completion of HSC examination. Only those students are eligible for Bachelor of Engineering degree course who had opted for science stream at +2 levels (XI and XII) and they also need to sit for a Common Entrance Test (CET) or centralized All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE). A Bachelor of Engineering degree is usually undertaken in any one of the fields like Aeronautical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Biotechnology Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.

After the successful completion of the Bachelor of Engineering degree course an individual may pursue further courses as Masters in Engineering (M.E) in any of the subjects in which he did his bachelor degree, MBA (Master of Business Administration), MSC (Master in Science) or may start his/her professional career in fields like Management, Engineering, Information Technology, Research and Development, etc.

With the increase in population in India the market is in need of more number of engineers in fields like civil, electrical, mechanical, software, biotechnology, etc. Thus a Bachelor of Engineering course is a sound choice for +2 Science pass outs now-a-days.
