Farooqia Dental College (FDC), Mysore is one of the prominent medical institutions in Karnataka.

The Farooqia Dental College (FDC) is a popular medical institution, located in the district of Mysore in Karnataka and the college is being run and managed by the Rifahul Muslimeen Educational Trust, Mysore. The trust got the permission to start Farooqia Dental College at Mysore from the State Government of Karnataka on 18th July, 1992. The college is affiliated to the University of Mysore and is recognised by the Dental Council of India (DCI) from 1995. The Government of India has also accorded permission to the college in 1997.

Farooqia Dental College, Mysore, Karnataka The Farooqia Dental College (FDC), Mysore has been working towards achieving some certain aims and objectives since its inception. Its principal objective is to provide quality dental education to the students of Karnataka. The college is also aimed at providing high quality dental treatment to the people of the state through its associate hospital. The college mainly offers the Bachelor in Dental Science (BDS) course to the students of Karnataka, in different disciplines. The college admits a total of 40 seats every year in the BDS course. The students are admitted through an interview before the management of their representatives at Mysore, along with their parents/guardian. However, the management also has the rights to admit students without interviewing them in exceptional cases or to refuse admission without assigning any reasons.

Like all the other recognised dental colleges, the Farooqia Dental College (FDC), Mysore also follows certain rules and regulations for admitting the students in the BDS course. According to the rules, the students are required to have passed the Two Year PUC examination conducted by the P.U.C Board of Karnataka State with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects or any other examination recognised as equivalent by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Bangaluru. These examinations include the Pre-degree of Kerala State, the Higher Secondary Certificate of Maharashtra, the Intermediate examination of Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh or other States where 12 year course is prevailing, and also the All India Senior School Certificate Examination (12 years) of Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi.

The candidates are required to obtain at least 50% of the total marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology at the qualifying examination. The minimum marks required for admission is 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology for general candidates in P.U.C. or other equivalent examinations of P.C.B. group. However, the percentage comes down to 45% for the candidates belonging to SC/ST category.

The students are also required to be aged at least 17 years as on 3lst December of the year of admission in the Farooqia Dental College (FDC), Mysore. The students also have to go through a State Level Common Entrance test, conducted by Common Entrance Cell, Government of Karnataka. The Farooqia Dental College (FDC), Mysore strictly follows the syllabus, discipline, and examination procedures prescribed by the RGUHS Bangaluru. The college also offers separate hostel facilities for its male and female students.
