The first match of the Central Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1960-61 was played between the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan at Varanasi from 11-13 November, 1960. The fourth match of the Central Zone was played between the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha at Meerut from 02-04 December, 1960. The match saw the Uttar Pradesh team winning by a margin of 5 wickets and getting 8 valuable points from it. In the fifth league match of the Central Zone in the Ranji Trophy, 1960-61, the teams of Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha clashed with each other at Indore from 15-17 December, 1960. The match was drawn during its stipulated duration and the match officials awarded the Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha teams 5 and 3 points, respectively for the match. The last match of the zone saw a battle between the teams of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh and the match was held at Meerut from 24-26 December, 1960. The Madhya Pradesh team won the match comprehensively with a margin of 6 wickets and earned 8 points from it. The win also helped the team to enter into the knock out level of the tournament, along with the Rajasthan team. |
