STAR World is STAR TV group`s premiere English-language Entertainment TV-channel. Also shown in the Asian region, the channel was the successor of STAR Plus, which is now the Hindi-language Entertainment Channel. Before STAR World, STAR Plus was Star`s English-language entertainment channel which has started its operations on 1992 and its Hindi counterpart is ZEE TV. But after STAR ended their partnership with ZEE TV, STAR Plus has been changed to Hindi-language and had launched STAR World.

Star World shows range from a wide variety of family dramas to comedy to talk shows along with some reality shows which also include children`s programming and live international events. Animated series of The Simpson show is highly acclaimed. The series of Friends has been the most popular among Indians. Lately many new shows like Malcom in the Middle, Desperate Housewives, and The Kumars at number 42 have become a favourite among all.

Star World among its Indian shows include some of the most popular shows like Coffee with Karan, a talk show and Rendezvous with Simmi Garewal, also a talk show which are very much watched all over the world. It also airs reality shows like the American Idol and many others. It airs shows from the most anticipated drama series Heroes to the sultry new show Falcon Beach, the 2007, 64th Annual Golden Globe Awards to the new seasons of American Idol, Frasier and Apprentice; one can expect the best of English entertainment.
