Bommarillu, directed by Bhaskar is a Telugu film that belongs to the romantic genre. The star cast of the film includes Siddharth Narayan, Prakash Raj, Genelia D`Souza, Jayasudha and others. This film was one the highest grosser of 2006. Its box office success prompted its remake in Tamil, Santosh Subramaniam. The film will also be remade in Hindi with Harman Baweja and Genelia D`Souza as the lead actors. As of now the film has been titled "its My Life".

The plot of the film revolves around father and son relationship. The Telugu film shows how the over affection of a father makes his son claustrophobic. The subject is beautifully dealt with and the actors perfectly justify their roles too. Arvind (Prakash Raj) is Siddhu`s (Siddharth Narayan) father. His dominance in Siddhu`s life is perturbing for the son. Every decision in the young man`s life is dominated by his father- from his dress, his hairstyle and even while he is playing carrom. According to Arvind it is necessary to supervise son`s life so that they are able to build a dream house, Bommarillu.

His marriage is fixed by his father against his wish and he is compelled to join the family business. However fate had decided otherwise. Siddhu bumps into the vivacious Hasini at a temple. They keep on meeting each other and fall in love. Back home Siddhu expresses his reluctance to marry the girl his father has chosen and speaks about Hasini.

To convince his family he brings Hasini home and persuades her to spend a month with them. A string of incidents follow and Hasini leaves their home disappointed with Siddhu. The young guy is dejected and repents. His pain gives a vent to his pent up emotions against his father. Arvind is stunned but he realises his mistake and approaches Hasini and his father for their marriage. The film ends on a happy note with both the families agreeing to the marriage.

He is not eager to compromise as far as his career and love are concerned. He finds true happiness and learns to live his life to the fullest when he comes to know Hasini.

Genelia D`Souza is Hasini in Bommarillu. She is a lively, vibrant and happy-go-lucky girl who knows how to enjoy his life. Her cheerful nature impresses Siddhu and he falls head over heels in love with her.
