Affiliated to Bharathiar University, Karpagam Arts and Science College is an autonomous college that has received approval from UGC and AICTE, New Delhi. Established in September 1995, this institution had a humble beginning with forty-seven students and ten staff members. Its main objective is to impart lessons to the students in latest theories and technologies, thereby moulding them into complete citizens, so that they are ready to meet all the challenges of the present day society. At present Karpagam Arts and Science College has student strength of 3200 and also two hundred and fifty four teaching and non-teaching staffs. Day by day the college is taking initiative to become an institution par excellence.

Karpagam Arts and Science College houses three libraries that are fully computerised. The books are categorised as per the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) System. OPAC (Online Public Access Catalogue) System also is available. There is an on-line library, which is quite comprehensive. It has huge a collection of eight hundred and sixty five CDs, facilitating on-line access for students. The Placement Cell successfully organises training sessions like-- Resume Writing, Personality Development Sessions, Interview Skills, Mock Interviews, Group Discussions, Presentation Skills. All these training programmes groom the students to be fit for the corporate world.
