Founded in 1990 by a charitable trust of Vysya Community called "Vasavi Vidya Trust", Vysya College has the aim of imparting quality education to the students both in and around the district of Salem. It offers a tranquil, fresh, quiet ambience and is located at Ramakrishnapuram, Masinaickenpatty, Ayothiyapattinam (post), Salem - 636 103, Tamil Nadu, India. Affiliated to Periyar University, Vysya College has bagged "A" Grade from National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

Encircling a total area of fifteen acres of lush green tracts, Vysya College also provides excellent infrastructure to the students. It has fifty five class rooms, separate laboratories for science subjects, like computer science, biological science, audio-visual theatre, extensive play ground, cafeteria, student hostel and so on. Spanning a period of thirteen years, this co-educational college is self-financed that has seen the growth of student strength from seventy-five in September 1990 to two thousand and three hundred in July 2003.

The college offers 9 undergraduate and 7 postgraduate programmes. They are all interdisciplinary and job-oriented courses. Currently the college is affiliated to Periyar University, preceded by University of Madras before 2000. Undergraduate Courses include- B.Com, CA, Bachelor in Business Administration, B.A.- English, B.Sc in Computer Science, B.Sc-Biochemistry, B.Sc-Microbiology, B.Sc- Biotechnology, B.Sc- Mathematics, Bachelor in Computer Application. The postgraduate courses admit- M.B.A, M.C.A, M.Com-CA, M.A.- English, M.Sc- Computer Science, M.Sc- Mathematics, M.Sc- Biochemistry, M.Sc- Microbiology, M.Sc- Biotechnology.

Vysya College has a superb infrastructure including spacious classrooms with Public Address System. Postgraduate students are provided with updated and digitalised classrooms with necessary equipments like Electronic smart boards and `MIMIO`. The College building has twenty four hours power supply. Periodical guest lectures by eminent Academicians, Industrialists and Technologists, Frequent Industrial visits, Spoken English and Tally are taught without any additional charge.

There are well-stocked laboratories for subjects like Microbiology, Biochemistry, and Biotechnology. Four computer laboratories have the facilities like 400 Pentium IV systems with updated configuration connected with NOVEL/ UNIX / WINDOWS programmes. The Library of Vysya College too is well stocked and computerised.

Internet facility for students is available in the college and hostel premises. Conference rooms also are plush and sophisticated. An LCD Projector is used for various purposes. Good transportation enables the students to reach the college quite smoothly. Separate hostels for both female and male students are available. There are separate Quarters available for faculty members. Healthy food gives the students a feel of home away from home. Not only that, mineral water is provided to the hostellers of Vysya College. Medical facilities are given to the students whenever needed. Apart from excelling in academics, the students of Vysya College wholeheartedly take part in social activities. Junior Jaycee wing started functioning on 18th January 2002 with a team of two hundred and sixty five members, who take the initiative of developing the overall personality and sensitising them towards social issues. National Service Scheme (NSS) was formed in 1993. At present it has 3 units within the college that consists of three hundred volunteers who dedicate themselves for delivering welfare services to the society.
