Gujarat Cricket team is one of the three cricket teams representing the state of Gujarat in various state and national tournaments. The other two teams are "Baroda cricket team" and "Saurashtra cricket team". The team could not bring much success but it was in the Elite Group of the "Ranji Trophy" tournaments and many players from the Gujarat Cricket team has played in the Indian cricket team. This team comes under the North Zone cricket team in the "Duleep Trophy" tournaments. Gujarat cricket team first participated in the "Ranji Trophy" final in the 1950/51 seasons. The team played against the Holkar team then. They lost the match by 189 runs but Jesu Patel from Gujarat team scored 152 runs. Gujarat cricket team won the "Ranji Trophy Plate League" in 2007/08 by defeating the Railways cricket team. Some of the renowned cricketers from the recent squad of Gujarat cricket are-
