Sardar Patel Stadium is located at the outskirts of Ahmedabad at the bank of river Sabarmati. The Sardar Patel stadium can accommodate about 48,000 spectators. The stadium was built on a 50-acre land donated by the State Government and took only nine months to be completed in the year 1982.-
The stadium is popularly known as Motera stadium. The first test held in Motera stadium was the match between India versus West Indies in the year 1983.
