
Harsha Bhogle is the most prominent Indian Cricket Commentator and Journalist, who is respected the world over for his expertise and lucid style of taking and writing. Bhogle started his career as a commentator at the relatively raw age of 18 as a radio commentator. He went on to become a prominent face on television and even anchored shows like Harsha Online. Once close to former captain Azharuddin, he even wrote his biography titled, Azhar-The Authorised Biography of Mohammad Azharuddin. Harsha also hosts a popular sports quiz show on
ESPN. An IIM Ahmedabad graduate, he shares his knowledge by giving lectures on Management Lessons from the world of Sports. Harsha Bhogle has also played cricket up to the University level.
Early Life of Harsha Bhogle
Harsha Bhogle was born on 19 July 196, to the parents A. D. Bhogle and Shalini Bhogle, a Marathi family, in
Hyderabad. His father was a professor of French and her mother was a teacher of psychology. Bhogle studied in Hyderabad Public School, and later studied from chemical engineering at
Osmania University,
Hyderabad. He completed his MBA from Indian Institute of Management,
Ahmedabad.
After the completion of his graduation, Harsha Bhogle worked in an advertising agency for 2 years. He also worked in a Sports Management company for another 2 years.
Personal Life of Harsha Bhogle
Harsha Bhogle is married to Anita, who was his classmate in IIM-A, and the couple has 2 sons, Satchit and Chinmay. Srinivas, Harsha`s older brother, is a statistician by profession based in
Bengaluru. Bhogle, renowned as modest person, is also a brand ambassador of PETA. With the support of his wife, he manages a sport-based communication consultancy named Prosearch.

Harsha Bhogle started his career as a commentator with
All India Radio, at the age of 19. He presented Live cricket or ESPN
STAR Sports and also became hosted the show Few Good Men, along with other commentators like Ravi Shastri,
Sanjay Manjrekar,
Sunil Gavaskar,
Navjot Singh Sidhu,
Saurav Ganguly, Geoff Boycott and others. He has also anchored other shows like Harsha Unplugged, Harsha Online, School Quiz Olympiad, for the sports channels ESPN and Star Sports. Harsha also presented IPL seasons from 2009 and also acts as an expert cricket analyst on
CNN-IBN. He has also hosted Business Today Acumen Business Quiz and Debate competitions and also
Discovery channel`s travel show named -Travel India.
Harsha Bhogle as an Author
Bhogle has written and published several books, such as, a biography of Mohammad Azharuddin, The winning way: Learning from Sport managers and a compilation of columns in The Indian Express, Out of the Box - Watching the Game We Love. He is a columnist for The Sportstar, an ancillary of The Hindu group of Publications.
